Abstract:Two shapes of complex impeller of roto jet pump were designed. CFD numerical simulation was performed in order to investigate the interior flow of the impellers,and obtain the distribution of pressure and relative velocity in the impeller passages. Suitable short blades installation can decrease the degree of diffusion, and the effect of split flow and diversion is very well. At last, through comparing the performance curves of the two model pumps,the performance was found to meet the designing requirement by using S shaped complex blades. When using two short blades, vortex appeared in the impeller passage, and backflow also appeared near one of the blades, which lead to hydraulic loss and lower efficiency. The performance of pump with one short blade is more superior.
