Abstract:The flow structure and the slurry consistence of the particle-liquid two-phase flows through the impeller of the centrifugal slurry pump are studied.By using FLUENT code and the kinetic theory of granular flow,the three-dimensional turbulent particle-liquid two-phase flow through the impeller has been simulated.The calculated results give the distribution of the particle and the flow structure,and help to understand the main region of the abrasion of the impeller and to improve the hydraulic design of the impeller for decreasing the abrasion and increasing the useful life of the pump.Numerical simulations on granule concentration distribution concerning granule diameter of 0.5 mm,1 mm and 2 mm are carried out.From the analysis of the phase volume distribution map of granule,it is shown that the simulated results agree well with the experiments.slurry pump;consistence;impeller;numerical simulation
