Abstract:ObjectiveTo analyze the difference between ECG changes of elderly and nonelderly patients with breast cancer after chemotherapy. MethodsFrom the
inpatients in our hospital from January 2014 to December 2016, 152 cases diagnosed with stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ breast cancer were selected. They were divided into non
elderly group(≤60 years old, 80 cases) and elderly group(>60 years old, 72 cases). The ECGs of the enrolled patients were all normal before being treated
by 6 periods of chemotherapy. ECG changes were observed after each period.ResultsAfter 6 periods of chemotherapy, (ⅰ) the incidence rate of ECG changes was
59.2%(90/152) among all the enrolled patients; (ⅱ) the incidence of ECG abnormalities in elderly group was significantly higher than that in nonelderly
group with statistically significant difference(76.4% vs. 43.8%, P<0.05). ConclusionWhether in the elderly group or in the nonelderly group, chemotherapy
will cause damage to the heart. ECG abnormalities are commonly seen after chemotherapy in elderly people if compared with nonelderly people. Therefore, it
is suggested to routinely take some preventive measures on patients over 60 to protect the heart in the process of chemotherapy.
