Abstract:Objective:To summarize and analyze the distribution characteristics of research literatures on Brugada syndrome(BrS). Methods:With the retrieving tool of GoPubMed, we retrieved BrSrelated literatures included by Medline from January 1, 1992 to December 31, 2015 and made bibliometric analysis on the distribution characteristics of published year, area, journal, research theme, etc. ]Results:A total of 2 220 papers were retrieved. The number of research literatures gradually increased after 1998 and reached relative peak value in recent three years. The leading countries in BrS literature quantity were the United States(386 papers, 17.39%), Japan(353 papers, 15.90%) and France (133 papers, 5.99%) successively, and China ranked the 11th(53 papers, 2.39%). The top three literatureoutput cities were Amsterdam in Holland(80 papers), Tokyo in Japan(70 papers) and Utica in America(58 papers). Beijing was the leading literatureoutput city in China, ranking the 36th(13 papers) in the world, and it was followed by Nanjing and Guangzhou which were tied for the 43rd place(7 papers) globally. The first three journals were Heart Rhythm(144 articles), Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology(143 articles) and Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology(90 articles), which published 16.98% of all the BrSrelated articles. Themes of BrS research mainly focused on genes, electrocardiographic manifestations, ventricular arrhythmias, sudden death, ICD implantation and so on. Conclusion:BrS, related studies mainly concentrate in developed countries. Chinese researchers should strive to improve the overall quality and quantity of BrS research.
