Clinical significances of dynamic electrocardiogram and atrial color ultrasound on paroxysmal atrial fibrillation induced by premature atrial contraction

Abstract：Objective To analyze the dynamic electrocardiogram and atrial color ultrasound on paroxysmal atrial fibrillation induced by premature atrial contraction. Methods Fifty-five patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation were selected and compared with control group. Result For the paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group， the frequency of premature atrial contraction was obviously higher than the control group. Interval of premature atrial contraction which related with atrial fibrillation was shorter than that in control group. While compared within paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group，interval of premature atrial contraction which related with atrial fibrillation was shorter than the latest single interval before the atrial fibrillation outbreaking. There was no significant difference between the two groups in left atrial diameter，but for those patients with duration of atrial fibrillation larger than one hour， their left atrial diameters were obviously lager than control group. Conclusion The attack and maintaining of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation was related with amount of advance and frequency of premature atrial contraction， the size of left atrial，the adjust ability of autonomic nerve. The maintaining time of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and increasing size of atrial also need to be considered.
