Abstract:Common prosperity is not only the essential requirement of socialism, but also an important feature of Chinese modernization. In the process towards common prosperity, higher education plays a vital and unique role. There are two layers of logical relationship between the coordination of these two: connotative development of higher education promotes realization of common prosperity in two aspects, namely ideas and implementation, while its function in individual, knowledge and society cannot work well without the guidance of the common goal. In current context, higher education still faces constraints of promoting common prosperity with knowledge function, individual function and social function. Therefore, it is necessary for us to give full play to the leading role of higher education, classify and coordinate knowledge production activities to consolidate the civilization foundation of national prosperity; perfect talents cultivation mode to comprehensively improve students training quality; optimize the allocation of educational resources to promote higher education to serve national strategic needs actively.
