Abstract:In order to improve the performance of multistage centrifugal pumps, a new guide vane was designed. The basic design principle originated from the twisted centrifugal impeller and runner guide vanes design method. By fixing the inner edge line and outer edge line, a twist surface of new guide vane was shaped. The guide vane smooth was linked up with positive and negative vanes, and a twisted blade was formed. The vanes were split into several independent continuous varying flow channels, which helps reduce water loss of guide vanes. For a high-pressure multistage centrifugal pump, different configurations of guide vane were developed. Through the evaluation of the different configurations of guide vane, by means of CFD analysis, the design rule of new-type space guide vane was studied. An optimal configuration was obtained, and by prototype testing the model had better hydraulic performance, its efficiency reached 85.68% at the design point to meet the design requirements, which proved the feasibility of this design method. This method will facilitate energy saving of multistage centrifugal pumps, and provide a useful reference for the development of guide vane.
