Abstract:Smart education is the key support for the training of excellent engineers in the new era. Promoting the deep integration of intelligent and digital technology and engineering teaching is the top priority of digital and intelligent reform and highquality development of engineering education. Based on the technology embedding theory, this study finds that there are four major dilemmas in the teaching reform of smart engineering in China. The first is the lack of technical support, and the supply and application of the intelligent engineering teaching environment lag behind. The second is the inertia of the traditional model, which hinders the technologyempowered and multimodal integration of engineering teaching. The third is that the evaluation method is single, and the evaluation of diversified engineering teaching driven by big data is out of place. Fourthly, teachers and students are passively adapted, and the competency of digital engineering teaching is weak. Facing the future, it is urgent for universities to strengthen the technical infrastructure to create an intelligently driven engineering teaching environment, innovate the teaching paradigm and reconstruct the intelligent engineering teaching form of manmachine collaboration, rely on visual data to achieve a scientific threedimensional evaluation of engineering teaching quality, improve digital competence and promote highquality and efficient implementation of smart engineering teaching.
