The change logic and its enlightenment of the accreditation system of engineering education in Germany: an analysis based on historical institutionalism

Abstract:Based on the analysis paradigm of historical institutionalism, this study tries to explore the change logic of the accreditation system of engineering education in Germany. From the historical point of view, the study finds that the establishment of the German engineering education accreditation system is more of a product of external catalyst, and it is a topdown "mandatory system change" led by the government. From the perspective of the structure, the government, universities, industry and professional associations play games and cooperate with each other by playing different roles, forming a unique institutional equilibrium system in Germany. Finally, the paper discusses the problems that should be paid attention to in the construction of the engineering education accreditation system in China.
