Abstract:The rutting plate was formed by wheel grinding method and cut into trabecular specimens. The flexuraltensile fatigue characteristics of AC20 asphalt mixture designed respectively by Marshall mixture design method and vertical vibration test method were investigated. The fatigue equations were established by Weibull distribution, and the tensile strength structure coefficient was determined. The tensile strength structure coefficient was compared with that in specification. The results show that compared with the AC20 asphalt mixture designed by Marshall mixture design method, the asphalt aggregate ratio of AC20 asphalt mixture designed by vertical vibration test method is reduced by 6.91% with improved density by 1.6%, and dynamic stability, sheer strength and tensile strength are improved respectively by 32.2%, 38.7% and 43.7%. The radio of slope for fatigue equations by vertical vibration testing method and Marshall mixture design method is from 0.883 to 0.965, and that of intercept is from 1.131 to 1.194. The performance of AC20 asphalt mixture designed by vertical vibration testing method is better than that by Marshall mixture design method.
