Abstract: Three kinds of waste polyethylene materials of LLDPE, LDPE and HDPE were used as additives for rubber asphalt mixture. The pavement properties of rubber asphalt mixtures with different additives were tested and evaluated by rutting test, low temperature bending test, immersion Marshall test and freezethaw splitting test. Based on the results of uniaxial compression test, the mechanical response of rubber asphalt pavement with LLDPE was studied by finite element program, and the benefits of asphalt mixture were evaluated according to layer thickness reduction and traffic benefit ratio. The results show that the high temperature performance, the low temperature performance and the water stability of rubber asphalt mixture with polyethylene materials are improved. The properties of rubber asphalt mixture with LLDPE are superior to those with LDPE and HDPE. The rubber asphalt mixture with LLDPE can not only prolong the pavement service life, but also optimize the asphalt pavement structure to decrease the cost.
