Estimation practical frequency formulas for vertical vibration of
halffloating system cablestayed bridge

Abstract:To calculate vertical frequency of halffloating system cablestayed bridge conveniently, the halffloating system cablestayed bridge without auxiliary pier was taken as research object. Frequency formulas for first antisymmetric and symmetric vertical vibration modes were deduced by Rayleigh method. The presented theoretical formulas were verified by the engineering project. The results indicate that constraint condition has great influence on vertical frequency to determine the main influence parameters of frequency, and it should be correctly considered in frequency calculation.The error between values calculated by the proposed formulas and the finite element method is 1391%, which meets the precision requirement of conceptive design. The proposed formulas can be applied to the halffloating system cablestayed bridge without auxiliary pier,and the vertical frequency formula in the windresistant design specification can be applied to the halffloating system cablestayed bridge.
