Abstract:Objective: To investigate the expression of miR-146a in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) and analyze its correlation with clinicopathological features of ESCC. Methods: Stemloop RTPCR was used to detect the expression of miR-146a in 50 ESCC tissues and matched tumorfree tissues, and to analyze its correlation with clinicopathological features of ESCC. Results: The expression of miR-146a was significantly increased in ESCC tissues compared with the matched tumorfree tissues(Z=-3.162,P<0.01). Upregulation of miR-146a expression was correlated with differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage in ESCC(P<0.01). Conclusion: MiR-146a in ESCC tissues was significantly higher than that in matched tumorfree tissues, which may play a significant role in the occurrence and development of ESCC.
