Abstract:Objective To investigate the occurrence of acute stress disorder(ASD) after atrial fibrillation(AF) radiofrequency ablation and analyze its correlative factors. Methods A total of 218 patients were selected, who had undergone AF radiofrequency ablation for the first time in our Heart Center. Among them there were 118 males at an average age of (63.41±12.61) years old while there were 100 females at an average age of (67.77±9.81) years old. In order to reveal the occurrence of ASD in patients receiving AF radiofrequency ablation for the first time, an investigation was performed with general information questionnaire and ASD scale. Results Among the 218 patients, the incidence of ASD was 17.9%. All the patients participated in the questionnaire survey three days after the ablation. The average scores of four dimensionalities including dissociative symptom, re-experiencing symptom, avoidance symptom and highvigilance symptom were higher than normal level, especially dissociative symptom and reexperiencing symptom. The incidence of ASD was relatively high in patients aged 55-74 and it did not significantly vary between different genders(P>0.05). Conclusion Acute stress reactions usually occur after AF radiofrequency ablation, especially dissociative symptom and reexperiencing symptom. It is suggested that clinical nursing staff should strengthen nursing intervention after AF radiofrequency ablation.
