The Significance of the Text and the Possibility of Interpretation —A Discussion about the State of Research on Nie Gannu's Traditional Poems in the New Period and Beyond

Abstract：In the new period and beyond，the academic research on Nie Gannu's traditional poems can be classified into two types: overall evaluation and discussion of form and style via specific poems. Although the current research of his traditional poems has touched the form, theme, style and so on, no researcher has focused on the motivation of Nie's creation of traditional poems. And a study of the motivation may lead to the discovery of a writer's independent personality and esthetic significance in his time.
