Abstract:The Eruca-Sativa-Gars (ESG) biodiesel was produced by the transesterification reaction between ESG and methyl alcohol with sodium carbonate as catalyst. The physical and chemical properties including density, viscosity, distillation range, cetane number and flash point of ESG biodiesel were compared with those of 0# diesel. The bed-test was conducted to analyze the emission performance of ESG biodiesel with different mixing ratios. The results of tests show that the ESG biodiesel can meet the fuel demands perfectly. The emission performance of ESG biodiesel is better than that of 0# with slightly higher diesel fuel consumption. The B50 biodiesel can substitute 0# diesel and modify the emission performance of engine.
