Abstract:Karl Marx's Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844 and Max Stirner's The Only Person and Possessions are two contemporary works that criticized Ludurig Feuerbach. In face of Feuerbach's humanism, the two works showed the different ways of criticism between Marx and Stirne. Marx opposed Feuerbach's idea of man as a class of natural existence by stressing man's social existence while Stirner tried to use the uniqueness of the individual to subvert Feuerbach's abstract humanism. Later in The German Ideology, Marx criticized and transcended Stirner, carving a new way of historical materialism.
