Abstract:The native place of Luo Guanzhong, the author of The Romance of The Three Kingdoms was not settled until the Yuan book Sequel to Record of the Ghosts was found. But the 1980s and 1990s saw the rise of dispute about Luo Guanzhong's native place. It began with the proposal that Luo was wrongly attributed to Taiyuan, then seethed with the claim by Shandong scholars that there were two Taiyuans, and climaxed with the recent suggestion that there were two Luos. These specious conclusions must be clarified.
