Experimental study on influence of dynamic change of crosswind angle on strain of wind turbine blades

Abstract:A dynamic yaw test rig was built in the wind tunnel, and a wireless strain testing system was used to test the blade strain of the horizontal axis wind turbine, and the variation law of load on horizontal axis wind turbine blades during the dynamic change of the crosswire angle is explored. The crosswind angle varies continuously from 0° to 45°, the strain data of each measuring point in the axial direction of wind turbine blade is processed and analyzed. The strain change rule from the blade root to blade tip position is obtained, which revealing influence of the crosswind angle change speed on the strain of the wind turbine blades. Under the dynamic change of crosswind angle, the strain on the blade appears hysteresis phenomenon, and the hysteresis effect range is 10°. When the crosswind angular velocity is 0.5°/s and 1°/s, the blade root position is more sensitive to the change of crosswind angle than the blade tip position. At the same crosswind angle, the difference of the blade root position strain in different crosswind angular velocity conditions is caused by the different centrifugal force loads.
