Abstract: In order to solve the propblem of the large axial head force caused by high pressure entry,three methods were introduced,adjusting impeller wearing ring diameter,installing vice blades and reducing rotating speed.Adjusting impeller wearing ring diameter and installing vice blades on front cover of impeller can balance axial force of lift pump for 2 500 t/d SWRO,and the structure would be more reasonable if using the way of reducing rotating speed to increase impeller dimension to balance axial force.Based on the seawater desalination processes,the way to ensure the performance parameters of lift pump was introduced.In view of the high pressure entry environment.The combination structure of single-stage cantilever,double volute and three thrust bearing was chosen.Thick shaft and small cantilever ratio were used to improve the stability of the system.Through the operation of 100 h test at higher pressure environment,the lift pump it was found that can maintains good sealing performance by using upstream pumping mechanical seal and has small weal loss because of non-contact section,thus it can reduce the failure of shaft in the high pressure circumstance.
