Abstract Academic culture is the mark of the maturation of discipline development. This paper, based on the theories of academic culture, studies the academic construction of higher education studies from knowledge, scholars and discipline respectively. Higher education research can not only examine the progress of discipline construction, but also facilitate the sound development of disciplines. It will soon develop to be a discipline through improvement of the knowledge system of higher education studies, cultivation of the scholar communitys the rationality of action and appeal for the situation of action in the frame of the first class discipline.
