| The impact of industry wage changes on China′s higher education structure: the quantitative analysis based on wage comparison |

Abstract In the market economy system, wage income stimulates the structural adjustment of higher education by affecting different needs of students and their families for higher education. Further analysis by the firstorder autoregressive distribution lag model shows that changes of industry wages overall have a significant impact on the adjustment of the hierarchical structure and the disciplinary structure of higher education in China, and changes in comparative advantages of different industries have different effects on the hierarchical structure or the disciplinary structure of higher education. Facing the new environments and the new challenges, China should set up correct value orientation, construct a new mechanism of multisubject collaboration and modernization governance of higher education structural adjustment, and form a dynamic adjustment mechanism by relying on the scientific decisionmaking system of informatization, so as to optimize higher education structure.
