| Multiple Power Mode of American Higher Education and Its Enlightenment |

Abstract Based on Max Webers theory of three types of power, the paper analyzes American power system of higher education and explores the various manifestations of multiple power modes and their causes. It was noted that in the process of governance structure reform, the highlights upon traditional power is the premise and basis of the construction of modern university system for Chinese universities; releasing academic charisma and highlighting the academic power is the key to the structure of universitys governance arrangements; and being prepared to face the rational choice of the market lies the difficulty of universitys governance structure.
