Abstract Strengthening the construction of universities interior quality assurance system is an inherent requirement of the development of higher education. In reality, there exist many problems with the system in China such as lack of construction concepts and misconduct in the specific behavior. Although the interior quality assurance systems of European and American universities originated from the traditional university autonomy, there is still much to be learned from their systems at the national, regional and institutional levels. And a sound system with distinctive features should be the aim of the construction of Chinese universities interior quality assurance system.
