Abstract:Distributed leadership is an educational leadership theory proposed in the 1990′s in Western education, and it provides a new perspective for the reform of university organization and leadership. In recent years, as an important institution of higher education internal quality assurance and promotion system, Faculty Development Centers (FDC) have been set up by some universities according to the encouraging policies of Chinese government. Now FDC become standardized and systematized, but there are still many theoretical and practical challenges. Hence, Chinese FDC should, by absorbing the experience of foreign universities, not only play its role as pure technical and assistant agencies, but also achieve organizational transformation based on the model of distributed leadership in order to promote relevant organizational and institutional construction of universities.
