Abstract:To optimize the combustor's design and improve the efficiency and performance of the micro-thermophotovoltaic system, the particle-filled micro-porous media combustor was established. Via the experimental validation, the porous media combustor was simulated by using fluent software. Effects of porosity, H2/O2 mixing ratio, and volumetric flow rate on the combustor's performance were studied. The results indicate that performance of the combustor can be improved by using porous media structure. The combustor has comparatively high efficiency when the porosity is 0.52, H2/O2mixing ratio is 2: 1, and volumetric flow rate is 200 mL/min, which is favourable to the stable and efficient prerformance of the micro-thermophotovoltaic systems.
