Abstract:By using styrene as monomer, PVP as dispersion stabilizer, and AIBN as initiator, the effects of components in dispersion polymerization systems on the particle size and size distribution were studied. The surface pattern of the polymer microsphere was observed by SEM. It is found that the change of the monomer content, medium characteristics and the amount of the initiator will markedly affect the particle size and size distribution of the prepared polymer microspheres. Through electing proper reaction parameters, monodispersed microspheres in the size of 2 -5 μm were synthesized with clean surface, uniform externality, and no coagulation.
