Structure and performance of MCMB sinters doped with different TiC granularities

Abstract:The green discs of mesocarbon microbeads(MCMB) were prepared by adopting gelcasting and using Tween 80 as dispersant, acrylamide and bisacrylamide as monomer and crosslinking. Then the green discs were sintered at 1 600℃ The effect of different granularities on the powder dispersing, the catalytic graphitization degree, and physical performance of sintered MCMB laminations were studied. The causes of these effects were analyzed. It is showed that the dispersing effect and physical performances of 50 nm TiC lamination are better than 15 μm TiC, which proves that 50 nm TiC is a better adulterant for MCMB.
