Optimum design and experiment on low-frequency ultrasonic atomizing nozzles

Abstract:To meet the need of aeroponic culture, a novel low-frequency ultrasonic atomizer was invented. The main structure and size of the atomizer were designed based on theoretical analysis. The 3-D parametric model and finite element model (FEM) for this atomizer were developed. The mode frequency was computed via FEM. The modal experiment proved the effectiveness of theoretical calculation and modal analysis. The atomizing test was carried out by applying PDPA/PDA technology. The percentage of droplet with volumetric diameter less than 5 μm was 22.3%. The atomizing test shows that the novel atomizer has high reliability and fine atomizing properties, and is very promising in aeroponic culture
