Abstract:To investigate the relationship between the broken wire of galvanized steel wire and the self-magnetic flux leakage signal of metal magnetic memory, three factors of magnetic pole direction, sheath and sensor spacing were considered. The universal testing machine tensile tests were carried out on 15 galvanized steel strands, and the magnetic signals of the piece were tested by magnetometer. The magnetic signal variation of the whole process of galvanized steel wire strands specimen was obtained from the initial stretching to the broken wire, and the effects of various factors on the magnetic signal were analyzed. The results show that the load-displacement curve of galvanized steel strands can be substantially divided into four stages. At each stage of transition, each flux leakage signal component has significant change rule. The normal component of By and the tangential component parallel to the strand of Bz change abruptly, and the tangential component perpendicular to the strand of Bx is decreased steadily. For the detecting and health monitoring of cable-stayed bridges based on self-magnetic flux leakage, the variation law of magnetic signal components can be obtained through the processing analysis, and the force stage and broken wire condition of the cable can be determined.
