Abstract:The experiment was conducted with purple eggplant as test crop and Zhengzhou loamy clay as test soil, and the normal subsurface drip irrigation was set as control group (CK) to disscuss the effects of aerated subsurface drip irrigation (ASDI) on the growth and soil aeration under greenhouse purple eggplant cropping system. The results show that compared with CK, soil Eh and DO at 15 cm soil depth under ASDI are respectively increased by 47.92% and 26.95%, and Rs is increased by 39.24%. Root activity is increased by 28.61%, and net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate and stomatal conductance are increased by 11.76%, 8.02% and 16.67%, respectively. Root length, plant height, yield and water using efficiency of purple eggplant are increased by 23.89%, 22.04%, 25.71% and 25.82%, respectively. Crop nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in ASDI are respectively increased by 55.56%, 42.86% and 43.75%, while there is significant difference in the above differences (P<0.05). The aerated subsurface drip irrigation can significantly improve soil aeration and promote crop growth with increased crop biomass, yield and crop water and fertilizer use efficiency to enhance crop yield.
