Abstract:A DNS appended 2aminocoumarinbased fluorescent probe 1 was designed for the detection of thiophenol in aqueous solution and living cells. The results show that in the absence of thiophenol, the solution shows none fluorescence. Adding thiophenol, the significant fluorescence enhancement is occurred and accompanied with dramatic fluorescence color of yellowgreen. When the equal equivalent amount of thiophenol is added, the fluorescence intensity can be increased 47 times. Probe 1 shows good linearity with R2 of 0.989 9 for thiophenol when the concentration ranges from 0 μmol·L-1 to 10.00 μmol·L-1, and the detection limit can reach 0.46 μmol·L-1. The probe also shows high selectivity and excellent sensitivity to thiophenol. The probe is successfully used in living cells for thiophenol visual detection by fluorescence imaging.
