Structure analysis and orthogonal optimization of automotive radiator based on Flowmaster

Abstract:With 1D thermal fluid simulation software of Flowmaster, a model was established based on geometric structures for an automotive radiator and verified by comparing with experimental results to assure the reliability. For the same volume, the orthogonal test method was used to analyze the effects of tube width, tube height, fin height and fin pitch on the heat transfer performance. The optimal structure parameters were determined to improve the heat transfer performance of radiator. The results show that under the optimization conditions with flat tube width of 27.00 mm, flat tube height of 1.50 mm, fin height of 6.25 mm and fin distance of 2.10 mm, the best heat transfer performance of radiator can be achieved.
