Abstract The highspeed wind tunnel test system was used to simulate the highspeed air flow generated during flight, and the effects of air flow size and nozzle structure parameters on the particle size and distribution of droplets were investigated. The results show that the three types of aviation nozzles are produced for a certain nozzle model, and the particle size of droplets is decreased with the increasing of wind speed. For the same spray pressure and wind speed, the droplet size of three kinds of nozzles is increased with the increasing of aperture. The relative width S values of aerosol droplets of the aerial nozzles are relative small, indicating that the droplet distribution is uniform. The structures of CP03 nozzle are diverse, and the nozzle is allowed for flexible flow adjustment under different pesticide spraying operations. The droplet of GP81A nozzle is larger than those of other nozzles. Large particle size should be combined with aircraft operating parameters to further optimize nozzle structure to achieve lowvolume spray and reduce pesticide waste. The single helicopter swivel nozzle structure should be optimized based on helicopter spray characteristics.
