Development and subjective evaluation of engine mount system based on TPA

Abstract:To solve the problem of idle jitter caused by the engine mount system of a front drive passenger car, according to the optimal design results of the mount system, the sample of the mount system was remanufactured based on the transfer path analysis (TPA) model. The static stiffness curve of the sample was obtained on elastomer testing machine. Two test conditions of turning on the air conditioner at idle speed (Idle Ac On) and turning off the air conditioner at idle speed (Idle Ac Off) were selected for the test. The vibration signals of active end, passive end and target response point of the mount were measured by arranging the threeway acceleration sensors to verify the vibration isolation effect of mount and the vibration performance of whole vehicle. The perfectly subjective evaluation test content and evaluation method were also proposed. The results show that the vibration isolation rate of the newly developed mount system and the vibration response of each concerned point in the vehicle can meet the objectives set before optimization. By the newly developed mount system, the good ride quality and driving characteristics to the whole vehicle can be obtained.
