Abstract:The orthogonal test was carried out with water consumption and asphalt foaming temperature as two main control parameters to determine the suitable preparation conditions for asphalt foaming. According to the production principle of blended asphalt, different amounts of foamed asphalt and matrix asphalt were separately added to aged asphalt to carry out regeneration test on aged asphalt. Rotating viscosity and penetration were used as key indicators to evaluate the performance of recycled asphalt and measure asphalt regeneration. Combining phase angle, rutting factor, fatigue factor and viscositytemperature relationship curve, the difference of regeneration effect between foamed asphalt and matrix asphalt on aged asphalt was analyzed from the rheological point of view. The experimental research shows that compared with the traditional matrix asphalt, the performance of foamed asphalt recycled asphalt pavement binder is better. The water molecular structure existing inside the foamed asphalt can enhance the asphalt fluidity and fusion performance, and the contact area between foamed asphalt and aged asphalt is increased to supplement the missing components of aged asphalt. Fourier infrared spectroscopy and electron microscopy were used to reveal the asphalt regeneration process and material change law from microscopic perspective.
