Abstract:To solve the problems of low power quality and high cost of permanent magnet generator, the performance parameters of air gap magnetic density, voltage regulation rate and electromagnetic torque ripple of a double external rotor stator coreless axialflux generator were investigated. The electromagnetic structure and the advantages of the generator were described. A kind of magnetic pole structure and the key parameters of "cake cut" type were optimized by threedimensional finite element. Based on the comprehensive consideration of improving the utilization ratio of permanent magnetic materials, the effects of the parameters of pole arc coefficient, permanent magnetic thickness and air gap length on the performance parameters of generator were analyzed. The optimization of magnetic pole structure and parameter shows that the power density of "cut cake" type magnetic pole structure is the largest. The permanent magnet material is reduced by 11.5% than that of trapezoidal structure, and the distortion rate of voltage waveform is reduced by 26.2%. The performance of the motor is improved, and the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed parameter design is verified by the performance test of the prototype.
