Abstract:In micro combustion chamber, the partitions can lead to the changes of flow field distribution and heat transfer. To analyze the effect of partitions on the premixed combustion process, the flammability limits of premixed CH4/air and the temperature distribution on the outer wall surface of micro combustor with or without partitions were investigated. The experimental results show that the input amount of air is increased by adding partitions when the flame enters the combustor at the same flow rate due to heat loss. The flame spreads more easily in the combustor when the partitions are spaced in the outlet, and the mixture cannot be burned in the 2mmwidth channels divided by partitions under any equivalence ratio. The flame stability is good in the combustor with 4mmdistance partitions. Compared with stainless steel, using Pt as partition material can broaden the flammability limits and improve the uniformity of temperature distribution.
