Optimum control strategy of drive torque for pure electric vehicles during acceleration

Abstract: The drive torque of pure electric vehicle during acceleration was investigated. According to the different demands of speed acceleration for pure electric vehicles, a method was proposed to determine the reference torque based on accelerator pedal openness and motor speed. A fuzzy controller was established by the fuzzy algorithm. The openness and openness change rate of accelerator pedal and the vehicle speed were considered as input variables, and the increment of compensation torque was considered as output variable. For different drive torque control strategies under the same actions of pedal, the comparison test of acceleration was designed. The results show that the torque control strategy with consideration of speed can improve the acceleration performance at medium and low speeds, and the operation stability can also be improved at high speed.
