Abstract:To improve the economic property of a single-axis parallel hybrid electric bus with AMT, the shift schedule was researched under hybrid driving mode. The shift schedule was obtained by choosing systematic efficiencies of engine efficiency,motor efficiency and battery pack efficiency as optimum objective and by selecting engine torque,motor torque and vehicle speed as shift control parameters. The efficiency shifting points were optimized by genetic algorithm(GA). The simulation of the proposed efficiency shift schedule was carried out on the platform of AVL Cruise under cycle condition of urban driving cycle (UDC). The results indicate that compared to the traditional shift schedule with two parameters of vehicle speed and throttle opening,the efficiency shift schedule can improve the fuel economy and reduce emissions of the hybrid electric bus without degrading vehicle dynamic performance.
