Technoeconomic analysis of wind power system
based on LCOE and PVC methods

Abstract:To solve the evaluation inaccuracy of investment profitability and relative income by the traditional method of present value cost (PVC), a levelized cost of energy calculation(LCOE) method was proposed combined with wind turbine model. The status of wind resources for selected sites was analyzed, and the wind turbine output model was proposed. Using the cost method of energy output based on per kW·h, the economic analysis of the chosen wind generation system at selected sites was conducted by LCOE and PVC methods. The influence of the uncertainty of some input parameters on the unit cost of power generation was analyzed, and the sensitivity analysis was performed for the selected turbines. The optimal system planning solution was determined. The results show that the cost estimated by LCOE is higher than that by PVC. The increasing of capacity coefficient and life cycle has positive impact on the cost of power output, while the increasing of other input parameters can increase the cost of LCOE.
