Effect of refrigerant circuitry on comprehensive
performance for finnedtube condenser

Abstract:The effects of refrigerant circuitry on the comprehensive performance of finnedtube condensers were investigated with R410A as working fluid.Compared with experimental data, the accuracy of simulation software CoilDesigner was verified. For the five kinds of typical layout of condensers,the effects of structural layout and refrigerant circuits merging on condenser heat transfer and pressure drop were investigated. The results show that the tubeside arrangement has slight effect on heat transfer rate and pressure drop of condenser for low refrigerant mass flow rate, while that has large effect for large mass flow rate. The merging method for different branch can improve the uniformity of overall heat transfer rate. The appropriate merging points are located in the quality range of vaporliquid mixture from 0.1 to 0.4, which is the balance of comprehensive performance between heat transfer rate and pressure drop for condensers.
