Analysis of grey incidence between limestone mineral composition and polishing value of aggregate

Abstract: The influence of limestone mineral composition on polishing value of aggregate was investigated. According to the test data of limestone mineral composition and polishing value of aggregate, the effects of limestone mineral composition on polishing value of calcite, quartz, dolomite and mica were analyzed by grey incidence analysis to rank mineral compositions by gray relational degree. The results show that the correlation degree between limestone calcite content and polishing value of aggregate reaches 0.975, and the correlation degree between limestone quartz content and polishing value of aggregate is 0.781. The contents of calcite and quartz have large influence on the polishing value of aggregate. With the decreasing of calcite content and the increasing of quartz content, the polishing value of aggregate is increased. The results show that cherty limestone with good mechanical property can be used as raw material of anti-skidding surface in expressway.
