Abstract:To evaluate the roughness of asphalt pavement between bridge abutment and approach embankment properly, the maximum transient vibration value (MTVV) was used as evaluation index of roughness vibration comfort. The full-car model and the bridge approach pavement model were established by Carsim, and the interactions of human-vehicle-road were simulated. The effects of step height, approach slab length, approach-relative slope and vehicle speed on MTVV were investigated. The grading standard of MTVV and the roughness evaluation method of asphalt pavement between bridge abutment and approach embankment were discussed according to the simulation results and the questionnaire results of comfortable feeling for passengers passing bridge-approach areas. According to the research results, the grading standard of MTVV was put forward. For the bridge with and without approach slab, the allowable differential slope and the allowable step height of bridge were proposed. Two kinds of roughness evaluation methods of bridge abutment and approach embankment were given.
