Comprehensive operation optimization of distribution network
based on improved bacterial colony chemotaxis algorithm

Abstract:Comprehensive operation optimization of distribution network was discussed.Considering both network reconfiguration and reactive power optimization, the mathematical model of distribution network comprehensive optimization was established. The improved bacterial colony chemotaxis (IBCC) algorithm was proposed to solve the problem of distribution network comprehensive operation optimization. To avoid locally optimal solution, according to basic bacterial colony chemotaxis (BCC) algorithm, dynamic adjustment strategy, adaptive mutation operator and chaos search mechanism were proposed to improve the bacterial optimizing speed and efficiency. The comprehensive operation optimization results of IEEE33 system show that the system loss is reduced, and the voltage level is improved through the improved algorithm. The possibility and the validity of the improved algorithm are also verified.
