Abstract:To solve the problem of thermal load increasing of 490 diesel engine due to the combustion chamber change from spherical shape to ωshape, the temperature field of three heated cylinder parts was analyzed based on finite element method. By Visual Basic, the instantaneous gas temperature and the heat transfer coefficient in cylinder were calculated as boundary conditions of finite element analysis. The finite element models of piston, cylinder head fireface board and cylinder liner were established by UG and imported into ANSYS to obtain grid division. The temperature field of the heated parts was calculated by ANSYS. The results show that the maximum temperature distribution of piston lies at the throat mouth edge of combustion chamber. The piston temperature decreases from the top to the bottom. The first ring groove temperature is higher than normal value, so the cooling method or heat insulation should be used. The maximum temperature of the fireface board appears at the region between intake valve and exhaust valve which is difficult to be cooled with marked effect by burning gas. The temperature of cylinder liner decreases from the top to the bottom.
