Transformation and removal of organic matter and nitrogen by integrated ecological floating bed

Abstract:Three kinds of floating beds of aquatic plants floating bed A, aquatic plants with artificial medium floating bed B and integrated ecological floating bed C with aquatic plants, artificial medium and aquatic animals were established. The concentrations of organic matter and nitrogen with different forms in the beds were investigated, and the contaminant removal characteristic by different units was also analyzed. The influence of Hyriopsis cumingii on the microorganism enrichment character of artificial medium was discussed. The results show that artificial medium has obvious efficiency for removing deliquescent organic matter and nitrogen. The Hyriopsis cumingii promotes the solubilization and mineralization of particulate organic matters by filtration and digestion to realize nitrogen transformation with improved nitrogen removal rate. The Hyriopsis cumingii can increase TTCdehydrogenase activity of microorganism on artificial medium and raise the nitrifying bacteria density, which illuminates that organic matters and nitrogen removal can be improved by Hyriopsis cumingii.
