Abstract:To solve the difficulty of space assembling for traditional hydro-pneumatic springs due to the complex structures, a novel hydro-pneumatic spring with single gas cell was proposed. The structure and principle of the proposed hydropneumatic spring were introduced and simplified to obtain physical model. The dynamic model was established by AMESim software. An external characteristic test for the hydro-pneumatic spring was conducted to verify the accuracy of dynamic model. One quarter of the vehicle model was built up to compare the simulations of the vehicles equipped with hydro-pneumatic spring and without hydro-pneumatic spring. The results show that the novel hydro-pneumatic spring can obviously enhance the vehicle ride comfort with decreased vehicle vibration.
