Abstract:A load test of the carbon fiber reinforced plastics(CFRP) cable stayed bridge first in China was introduced.A finite element model(FEM) of this bridge, based on beam elements, shell elements and bar elements was established.A finite element analogy of this structure was carried out,and the simulated results were contrasted with test results. The analysis results show that the results of static analysis based on above FEM agree well with experiments,so it is appropriate to use this model in a static analysis of CFRP cable stayed bridge. At the same time, the results of test indicate the stiffness in-service and the carrying capacity of the CFRP cable stayed bridge first in China conform to the specifications and design requirements. The overall performance of this structure is fine. The test and related analysis results provide reference for further engineering applications of CFRP cable bridge structure.
