Abstract:Low activation martensitic steel developed in China (CLAM steel ) is studied. Three dimensional finite element numerical model of two-pass welding by one side was established using FEA software(ANSYS) and the analysis was applied to CLAM steel TIG welding processing. Double ellipsoid heat source model was selected as body load. ANSYS parametric design language (APDL)and life-death element technique were applied to simulate the moving and loading of the welding heat source and the filling of welding material step by step. Welding pool shape and transient temperature distribution of CLAM steel with preheating were analyzed. Weld microstructure and hardness of welded joint were analyzed too. The study provides reference information for CLAM TIG weld.
